]]>Prometheus Medical International are extremely proud to have partnered with West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS) by delivering 10 NAEMT PHTLS courses this year to 98 Paramedic Mentors across their trust.
The selfless work carried out by all at WMAS was emphasised during the course deliveries, with several candidates being identified as potential instructors. What sets Prometheus Medical International apart is the use of clinically current instructors including HCPC Paramedics, Doctors and other Pre-Hospital Specialists, and it was great to see course feedback reflecting this:
Both instructors were knowledgeable in their fields, it was refreshing that they were both paramedics & have experience in the field . Many courses I have attended have different people covering pre-hospital that don’t understand the area.
Prometheus Medical International deliver both open courses that allow individual students to book online, and group bookings. Prometheus Medical International are currently providing a number of PHTLS training courses to West Midlands Ambulance Service Trust (WMAS) Clinical Team Mentors as part of their Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The Trust serves a population of 5.6 million people, covering an area of more than 5,000 square miles across the West Midlands and Prometheus Medical International are proud to be supporting WMAS and their Clinical Team Mentors.
The Clinical Team Mentors (Paramedics) are undertaking the NAEMT-certified PHTLS course (Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support) which is recognized around the world as the leading continuing education program for pre-hospital emergency trauma care. The WMAS Clinical Mentors are benefiting from completing their 2-day PHTLS training at our 11-acre training centre in Herefordshire, which provides the ideal location for practical, immersive training. Our instructors are always clinically current, and use their knowledge and experience of blended classroom-based learning along with practical, realistic pre-hospital scenarios utilising hyper-realistic SIMBODIES mannequins and casualty simulation.

Our instructors have been extremely impressed with all the WMAS students showing great enthusiasm, professionalism and overall engagement with the training.
The NAEMT Certified PHTLS course is delivered over 2 days, and we limit the class size to a maximum of 12 learners, to 2 instructors.
WMAS are the first Trust in the country to have a paramedic on every vehicle and respond to around 4,000 ‘999’ calls each day. We are delighted and proud to be able to support this service and contribute to frontline Paramedics improving the quality of pre-hospital trauma care through delivery of our PHTLS courses to WMAS Clinical Mentors.
